Questions people ask

Do I need a handpan to use Sona?

No. Lessons are made for your own pan, but the app plays on its own: short try lessons, the scales side by side, and a few questions on which handpan to get first.

Will it match my pan's scale?

Very likely: 30 presets, from D Kurd to Akebono, and an editor for your exact notes, top and bottom, at 440 or 432 Hz.

Is it free?

Module 1, the rhythms and the first songs are free, with no signup. Sona Pro opens the rest: $49/yr founding price (later $69). Free until Pro launches for everyone on the founding list.

What songs are in the library?

Traditional and public-domain tunes (Greensleeves, Carol of the Bells, Shady Grove and more) and original grooves written for handpan.

I have a 12/14-note pan with bottom notes. Supported?

Yes. Bottom notes are drawn where they sit and used in lessons, songs and the editor.
